Staff

Gisa Nico has her Master's degree in special education and a teaching credential in California. With 15 years of experience in the field of education, she has not only served as a public school elementary teacher, but also as an educational therapist for students in middle and high school. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the California Association for Family Child Care (CAFCC).  She has attended numerous conferences and workshops including a week-long workshop at Project Zero.

Claude Heywood has been teaching in the field of early education for 28 years.  She taught in a kindergarten/first grade classroom for half of her career and has been teaching preschool for the other half.  Claude has been trained and certified in the Montessori method and also has training as a pediatric nurse.

Marisol Hurtado-Rivera has a certificate in teaching English as a second language.  She worked in Mexico teaching children in preschool, first, and second grades.  Marisol has also worked in a Montessori program as well as a Spanish Immersion preschool.  She has been working with children in academic settings for 15 years.
